WHAT IS DATA PRIVACY ACT OF 2012

  • Data Privacy Act (DPA) of 2012 is the policy of the State to protect the fundamental human right of privacy, of communication while ensuring free flow of information to promote innovation and growth.

The State recognizes the vital role of information and communications technology in nation-building and its inherent obligation to ensure that personal information in information and communications systems in the government and in the private sector are secured and protected.

HOW AM I BEING INVOLVED?

  • As a Kantar Worldpanel Panelist, you are herein referred to as DATA SUBJECT and hereby asked of your CONSENT in the usage of your personal information.

Consent of the data subject refers to any freely given, specific, informed indication of will, whereby the data subject agrees to the collection and processing of personal information about and/or relating to him or her. It is required prior to the collection and processing of personal data, subject to exemptions provided by the Act and other applicable laws and regulations.

When you are invited to join our survey/panel:

  • we may ask you for a range of information
    • including your personal opinions, and demographic information, such as your age and household composition
  • you may want to verify details further.
    • our Field Interviewers and office-based backend office staff will openly accept your queries*
  • you may agree at our invitation anytime.
    • our Field Interviewers will be glad to assist you in the process of recruitment
  • you decline to answer any questions or withdraw from participation in a study at any time.
  • we will protect your privacy.
  • we may share your personal data with third party service providers.
  • your personal information may be collected, stored, transferred or processed by our sister companies within the WPP group, or 3rd party service providers
    • for research related purposes, such as data processing, and fulfilment of incentives. They are all contractually bound to keep any information they collect and disclose to us or, we collect and disclose to them, confidential and must protect it with security standards and practices that are equivalent to our own.
  • we take appropriate technological and organisational measures
    • to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.
  • our security procedures are consistent
    • with generally accepted commercial standards used to protect personal information.
  • all our employees are contractually obliged
    • to follow our policies and procedures regarding confidentiality, security and privacy.
  • like most online surveys, we gather certain information automatically and store it in survey data files.
    • This information may include things like Internet Protocol addresses (IP address), browser type, Internet service provider (ISP); referring/exit pages, operating system and date/time stamp.
  • we use these automatically collected information to analyse trends such as browser usage and to administer the site.
    • e.g. to optimise the survey experience depending on your browser type. We may also use your IP address to check whether there have been multiple participations in the survey from this IP address.
  • we take all reasonable steps to keep personal information in our possession or control
    • which is used on an on-going basis, accurate, complete, current and relevant, based on the most recent information made available to us by you and/or by our client.
  • we rely on you to help us keep your personal information accurate, complete and current
    • by answering our questions honestly and you are responsible for ensuring that the data controller is notified of any changes to your personal data.
  • We will not make your personal information available to anyone without your agreement UNLESS it is for research purposes only or if required by law.
    • This includes your name, address, e-mail address, gender, phone, family members information, social status (income, marital, occupation), height, weight, internet behaviour cookies and purchase records.
  • As part of the Company Business Continuity plan and in certain instances the law, our electronic systems are backed up and archived.
    • These archives are retained for a defined period of time in a strictly controlled environment. Once expired, the data is deleted and the physical media destroyed to ensure the data is erased completely.

Once you become a panellist:

  • We will give you your panellist website account username
  • You will be requested to set a password which enables you to access Kantar Worldpanel panelist website
  • You are responsible for keeping this password safe as we will not store it in our system.
    • If you forget the password, you can always contact us, our friendly staff will reset give you a onetime use default password for you to change it for yourself. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Like most websites, we use cookies to optimize your experience using our websites. We also check for cookies that are placed when specific adverts or web pages are viewed. These are known as Behavioural and Advertising Research cookies.

      • Panelist shall be indemnified for any damages sustained due to such inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained or unauthorized use of personal data, taking into account any violation of his or her rights and freedoms as panelist.
